Africape Investments is a privately owned investment group with interests in Fuels & Energy, Property, and Private Equity Investments. The group currently has a portfolio of companies across these sectors. With its Head Office in Plattekloof, Cape Town, Africape’s interests span across South Africa as well as abroad with its primary focus in the Western Cape, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Gauteng.
The company’s main areas of investment are Retail and Commercial Properties, Fuel Service Station Properties and Operations, Fuel Wholesale and Property Development, as well as various interests in affiliated sectors that offer synergies to the group’s core business. Africape has also recently expanded it’s interests to include Residential Property and Student Accommodation with developments already underway and various deals currently in the pipeline.
We are entrepreneurs to the core and that’s how we manage our business. This allows us to be agile and dynamic and enables us to identify and create opportunities in a manner that sets us apart from conventional corporate investors. Our group is 100% Black owned and is committed to Black Economic Empowerment and to employing, training and mentoring previously disadvantaged people whilst always striving where possible to procure goods & services from empowered suppliers.

Prompted by innovative entrepreneurship Africape has been operational since the 1990’s. The business’ founders began by owning and operating fuel service stations within underdeveloped areas in the Western Cape.
The owners are a second generation fuel family whose parents opened their first service stationin Grassy Park in the Cape Flats in 1959. Africape soon expanded through growing its service station portfolio and in 1997 commenced its first retail development. Several service stations and retail shopping centres were developed since then with some being sold and some forming part of Africape’s rental stock.
With a rapidly growing property division Africape remained committed to also growing its portfolio in the fuel and energy sector. In 2009/10 the group acquired it’s first Diesel Depot in Port Elizabeth and shortly thereafter was selected as the Branded Marketer for Caltex in the Northern Cape overseeing more than 25 Caltex Service Stations in the region. Today Africape’s fuel and energy division across its various business units sells and distributes more than 150 million litres of fuel per annum.
The group has an impressive and rapidly growing portfolio within South Africa, which comprises of many existing and new development projects. This pays testimony to its progressive, forward-thinking vision and benchmarks it solidly as a leader in the energy and property sectors.

Over the past 10 years Africape has developed a well-balanced, dynamic and energetic team who all have excellent market knowledge within and beyond their specific areas of expertise. The team has established a commendable track record and is well respected in the industry with an excellent network of high-level relationships in the property, fuel and energy sectors.
The individuals within the management team are highly qualified and each have extensive experience in their various business units. It is the combination of these skills and broad expertise that forms the foundation of Africape’s success.
Our management team is well supported by excellent and capable staff within our various business units and as a group Africape employs over 150 staff in the Western Cape, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Gauteng.

As a 100% black-owned business, with its roots in the Cape Flats, Africape is committed to Black Economic Empowerment and to employing, training and mentoring previously disadvantaged people.
More than 95% of our staff are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and many of our staff members have been promoted from entry level positions after being offered training and mentorship by the company. Success stories of cleaners and receptionists that have gone on to become qualified bookkeepers, managers, etc. are not uncommon in our group.
Africape is also committed to procuring goods & services from empowered suppliers and does so wherever possible. We also have an active enterprise development program where small businesses within our network are regularly assisted through support programs, preferential procurement and other interventions.
Africape is involved in various corporate social investment programs which includes feeding schemes, support of various religious organizations, school fees support, bursaries and various other upliftment programs.
